First Aid Training

Our First Aid Training courses will give you the skills and information you need to help with situations at work or when out and about in general.

We have a basic First Aid at Work Training Course, and an Emergency First Aid at Work Course which will help you deal with emergency situations while waiting for medical professionals to arrive. We have training courses for both adult patients and also First Aid Courses to help assist where paediatric first aid help is required.

The AED training course is designed to help you become proficient in operating defibrillators safely and legally, and the Mental Health Awareness Training Course is backed by Mental Health First Aid England, and is aimed at ways we can help people to talk freely about mental health issues.

Our First Aid Training courses are available either on-site at our course training premises in Northampton, or off-site at your place of work/premises.

First Aid Training Certification

When you have successfully completed any of our first aid training courses, you will receive a two-year first aid certification and access to refresher courses to enable you to maintain your first aid training skills.

First Aid Training Refresher Course

If you have attended a first aid training course in the past, you can participate in a shorter version of the training courses designed specifically to refresh your first aid skills and to test your first aid knowledge.

Northamptonshire County Council – February 2020

AKS Training was featured in a recent promotional video of the Northamptonshire County Council. In it, our Director, Stuart Phelan, speaks about our partnership working the local authority and CITB. Our partnership responds to the growing skill gap faced by the county’s construction industry, and provides funded construction training for those who find training fees a barrier to entry for work. So far, we have trained and placed over fifty learners into employment. To find out more about the work we and others do as part of the Northamptonshire Construction Skills Programme, by following the link.

Northamptonshire County Council Visit Construction Course Learners at AKS Training

Just before Christmas, on 17th December 2019, Northamptonshire County Council were out at AKS Training, meeting some of the learners who are laying the foundations for their career in construction. They’ve all joined the NCC’s funded training programme to give them the skills and experience they need for an exciting career!

The learners were in the classroom in the morning, and then out on site in the afternoon putting what they’ve learnt into practice.

If you want to build a career in construction, there are funded courses happening right now across Northamptonshire. You’ll gain the skills you need, get practical experience as well as get your CSCS card which will open up many opportunities for you!

This training is for everyone aged 18 and above not already working in construction, we welcome applications from everyone regardless of your background and experience.
