AKS Training is a vocational training provider based in Northampton. Specialising in rail, transport, civil engineering and health and safety competency training, we deliver a variety of courses to meet the functional needs of these growing industries.

Putting learners at the heart of the learning experience, our training is tailored to develop the professional operating standards and competencies of our candidates. Using trainer demonstration and facilitated group discussion, our training uses common, real-world scenarios, found within learner workplaces, to enhance understanding, and provide candidates with job-ready, applicable industry knowledge.

Meet the Team
For over 35 years, Stuart has pursued a long and distinguished career in the transport and rail industries. For much of his early career, Stuart crafted a career in international haulage. Having gained experience as a LGV and HGV driver, Stuart began to diversify, gaining experience driving more challenging loads for international automotive hauliers and agricultural commodity providers. His strong reputation in the industry, saw him excel, gaining specialist employment working for Red Bull Racing in which he drove internationally across Europe, hauling specialist equipment for Formula 1 racing teams. He also served as a mentor, team leader and transport manager, developing a strong track record for maximising team performance, whilst excelling driving practices and standards. Most recently, Stuart became a leading trainer, auditor, assessor and transport consultant, serving haulage firms across the Midlands.
Stuart has also worked within the rail industry, serving as a senior trainer and assessor for a leading rail industry training consortium based in the East Midlands. It was during this position that Stuart gained a reputation for his teaching style, which is known to be of high quality, relevance, and great use to learners, whilst also delivers workforce competency development loved by industry clients.
Throughout his long career, Stuart has developed a passion for mentorship and vocational teaching, and has been a local advocate for inclusive and supportive workplace education. He has particularly campaigned for the betterment of vocational skills and competencies in the county. Testament to this he has developed partnerships with public sector organisations to achieve social enterprise goals.
After a 35 year career within the Civil Service, Tracey brings a wealth of knowledge to the office team. Her experience working at the Department of Work and Pensions, saw her coach and support people back into employment. Her most recent role within the department saw Tracey coordinate sector based work academies across Northampton. It’s this experience that allows her to bring a practical knowledge of skill development needs demanded by local businesses, enhancing the client experience at AKS Training.

Marketing Support Administrator
Kieran is our Marketing Support Administrator, providing part-time administrative support for the marketing and compliance needs of the business. Kieran has experience working within Higher Education in the East Midlands as a teaching associate, and through the Economic and Social Research Council as a doctoral researcher. Prior to that, Kieran worked in a number of educational roles and has experience in communications.
